Contracts HWP14RLM and HWP14RTA: Construction of Complex Pedestrian Ramps

These New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) projects involved the construction of pedestrian ramps at over 125 corners due to the proximity of New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) facilities, other interferences, or in designated landmark locations. The scope of work included storm manholes, catch basins and connections, new water mains, and new fire hydrants, as well as relocating traffic and pedestrian signals and providing all associated electrical work. The scope of work also included concrete curb, steel faced concrete curb, granite curb, tinted sidewalk, resetting of bluestone sidewalk, pavement milling, concrete road base, asphalt pavement, and pavement striping. KC maintained detailed and complete documentation of construction activities, performed field measurements and computations, and prepared field sketches for Inspector’s Daily Reports. KC diligently enforced the contractor’s adherence to the contract specifications, NYCDDC and New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) standards, and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) requirements.
