Infrastructure Hardening Grants
KC investigated and secured grants through a program funded by the Federal Disaster Relief Appropriations Act designed to fund projects that reduce future storm damage risk and enhance resiliency for natural disasters. The grant program was designed as a combined grant and zero interest loan through the New York State Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) and would provide a 25% grant and 75% zero interest loan for eligible projects. The secured grants included two projects totaling $3.1M.
KC completed the application and approval process while working closely with officials from the Town, New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), and the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (NYSEFC) from the initial engineering report through the final grant application. Upon award of the grants, KC provided administrative services to ensure receipt of funds reimbursement for the Town of Wallkill.
