The head of KC’s geotechnical engineering group worked on this project as an employee of another firm. This Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) project included a geotechnical investigation, subsurface exploration to determine soil conditions, determination of soil design parameters, and design and analysis for deep pile foundations consisting of steel pipe piles. The geotechnical scope also included the review of loading and allowable tolerance limits for the foundation and the provision of alternate pile layouts, criteria for pile capacity verification, and seismic site loading and classification.
