Contract D030992-08: Taste New York Farm Market Initiative

KC was responsible for providing surveying services in addition to design services for the development of a Taste NY rest area in Long Island, NY. This project received the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Quality of Life award. KC provided base mapping and other tasks including research, boundary, and right-of-way (ROW) resolution of the Long Island Expressway and County road bounds, mapping in MicroStation InRoads format, coordination with the Nassau County Department of Public Works (DPW) and New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Region 10, on-site control in SPC as baseline for NYSDOT acquisition mapping, creation of bounds and descriptions, and development of parcel acquisition mapping to NYSDOT standards. Design services included the complete design of a new sanitary sewer pump station to service the Taste NY Market and its potential future growth. This included the pump station design, building layout, wet well, valve vault,  pump calculations and selection, wet well control system with triple redundant level sensors, electrical and LED lighting plants, passive charcoal wet well vent, and active potassium permanganate wet well odor control system designs.
